Hey guys! It’s confession time. I’ve developed a deep obsession over cement tiles. And what’s not to love? They look stunning anywhere they’re installed. Ideal for walls and floors in kitchens, bathrooms, entryways, mudrooms and even porches. They have the strength of concrete but feel like silk. If you’ve been around long enough you know that cement tiles (also known as Encaustic tiles or Concrete Tiles) aren’t anything new. In fact, they date back to the 12th century. Unlike ceramic tiles, which are usually glazed and fired, cement tiles are made by pouring a mixture of cement and color pigment into separate compartments in a metal mold. They age beautifully over time and require a regular sealing, but their unique style is totally worth the maintenance. If you’re a fan of bold patterns and vibrant colors, cement tiles may be right up your alley.
